The Newfoundland Distillery Co

The Newfoundland Distillery Company, founded in 2016 by William Carter and Peter Wilkins, is the first craft distillery in Newfoundland and Labrador. Located in Clarke’s Beach, the distillery focuses on celebrating the terroir of Newfoundland by using locally grown barley and other native ingredients to craft a range of spirits. Their products include gin, rum, aquavit, vodka, and whisky, all of which highlight the purity and uniqueness of Newfoundland’s natural resources.

Their spirits have gained international recognition, with awards such as Double Gold for Seaweed Gin and Best Canadian Contemporary Gin at the 2021 World Gin Awards. Other notable products include Gunpowder & Rose Rum, Chaga Rum, and Cloudberry Gin. The distillery also produces a distinctive Newfoundland Whisky, which is triple-distilled and barrel-aged, offering a unique flavor profile that reflects the province’s character.
